Forest stakeholders in the Quatre Montagnes area of the Vercors Montain (France) are now revising their Territorial Forest Convention (Charte Forestière de Territoire). As a preamble to the discussions about the next convention, they asked researchers of Irstea to present some results and recommandations regarding future challenges and opportunities. During this seminar (Januray 31st) forest resources and accessibility maps produced in the framework of the Newfor study area were presented. The potential of lidar data for a better knowledge of both the topography and forest growing stock was highlighted with local examples.
